Rhonda SG Erm... heard of Singapore Chom Chom? There's also this Raffles something or other near town that sells awesome Singapore food too! And up in Boxhill and Doncaster, lagi more Malaysian restaurants! I managed to find all I wanted! Each time I thought, alamak, no chilli tapioca crisp / satay fish sticks / tempeh / Glory Kaya, taaa-daaaah, the next minute, I find it in a grocery shop! Cuz my stomach's satisfied, I'm a happy camper!
Rhonda SG Will feel sick though! I eat healthier these days, cause no lard cause no hawker food. To the extent that when I first ate mee pok here after about a month, I felt queasy and sick in my stomach afterwards! Now, I understand what sl meant when she said that each time she returns to SG to eat, she feels sick.
Rhonda SG *throws dog biscuit to StarPuppy and watches him do a somersault, catching the biscuit mid-air!
Rhonda SG Who? What? Where? Why? How? BTW, your sis like very busy, bo sia from her leh! Call her home also no response. She in NZ already?
Rhonda SG OK, I'm going to choose a flight that arrives in Singapore in the early morn, so I can join mom and dad for breakfast!
StarPuppy SG shes in for fever..up and down as she has a record of kidney failure..she must be admitted for dalaysis(sp) shes ok but she looks so old..older by 10 years
the Bear SG yeah.. in NZ i'll still say.. amateur... when in a foreign place eat like the foreigners... and when you return to your homeland, you won't miss a beat i lived on souvlaki, steak sarnies, schnitzels, steak, pho, gelato, pizza... everything.. only ate chinese food or the local version of it when forced to... i found it way better than the sad facsimile of "chinese food" there
Rhonda SG I've eaten all that you've listed. Don't find anything fascinating about Souvlaki's, and as for the rest, ok, tried and tested, tasty, but I have my dietary preferances. Who's to say that when you are here, you MUST eat only souvlaki / schnitzel / steak?
av98m SG http://www.yawningbread.org/arch_2007/yax-702.htm article on an increasingly common sight in Singapore
the Bear SG there are others.. roo, emu, them grubs (which i never had a chance to eat) i loved the uni corner greasy spoon...
the Bear SG something the elite never see.. and probably don't know exist because they don't eat at hawker centres.. chances are, they'll probably deny their existence
av98m SG their henchmen will make sure the area is cleared, cleaned up, and locked down even before they arrive at the hawker centres(if they ever) our own LKY also say Singapore got no beggars what
